For the past 50 years, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue has operated the only public safety agency bomb squad in Southern Nevada.

- Tanging public safety bomb squad para sa lahat ng Southern Nevada, na nagbibigay ng counter-IED at bomb squad na mutual aid na tugon sa Northern Nevada at sa ating mga karatig na estado ng California, Arizona at Utah.
- FEMA Type 1 Bomb Squad.
- Ang bawat miyembro ng unit ay isang sinumpaang Espesyal na Deputy - US Marshal at miyembro ng FBI - WMD Joint Terrorism Task Force.
- Ang aming accredited bomb squad ay nasa minorya bilang isang bomb squad na nakabase sa departamento ng bumbero. Halos 8% ng 466 na awtorisadong public safety bomb squad ay nakabatay sa departamento ng bumbero.
- All members are certified Nevada POST sworn category 1 peace officers.
- As peace officers, all members are certified to LVMPD's MACTAC standards, and many of our members are MACTAC instructor-certified through LVMPD.
- All members are certified emergency medical technicians or paramedics.
- All members are certified Hazardous Materials Technicians.
- All members on the unit are FBI-certified bomb technicians who are trained at the FBI – HDS (Hazardous Device School) in Huntsville, Alabama, and operate under the same guidelines nationally set forth by NBSCAB.
- The unit has been an organized bomb squad with Las Vegas Fire & Rescue for more than 50 years.
- They routinely work and train hand in hand with other local, military and federal agencies to include, but not limited to: FBI, ATF, U.S. Marshals, USAF EOD, Nevada National Guard CST and Secret Service, along with all law enforcement agencies within our response area.
- Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Arson/Bomb Squad now operates a K9 division within the Bomb Squad. K9 Wilbur and his handler are a certified explosive detection K9 team.
